About Vacaville Sunrise Rotary Club

The Vacaville Sunrise Rotary Club was organized on September 21, 1991 and chartered by Rotary International on December 2, 1991.

We are part of Rotary District 5160 and meet each Tuesday at 7:30 am to enjoy each other's fellowship and discuss ways to provide service to others.  Our meetings are held at the Journey Downtown located at 308 Main St, Vacaville, CA 95688.

The Four-Way Test, created by a Rotarian, underscores our commitment to integrity:

Of the things we think, say or do

1) Is it the TRUTH?
2) Is it FAIR to all concerned?
3) Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
4) Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

What is Rotary?

Rotary was born in Chicago, Illinois on February 23, 1905. Our founder, Paul
Harris, an attorney, sought to promote fellowship among his business acquaintances. Soon there developed the higher purpose of service to others.  The men met in rotation at each other's places of business, hence the name Rotary. To make the club a broad cross-section of the business and professional community, only one person representing each vocation was admitted.  This was the beginning of the classification system still in use today.

Rotary is an organization of men and women united worldwide who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world.  This is exemplified in the mottoes:  "Service Above Self" and "He Profits Most Who Serves Best."
